2021.09.27 05:43 TheElectricExtra 「Rat in a Cage」 and 「Winterlong」
Stand Name: 「Rat in a Cage」 and 「Winterlong」
Localized Stand Name: 「Caged Animal」 and 「Cabin Fever」
Namesake: "Rat in a Cage" and "Winterlong" by the Smashing Pumpkins
Stand Type: 「Rat in a Cage」 is a phenomenon-based Stand that inhabits a place rather than a person, but demonstrates an eerie sort of intelligence in selecting victims, deliberately preying on the mentally unstable and downtrodden.
Appearance: 「Rat in a Cage」 appears to humans as a normal black cat with white stripes running in rings around its body. To Stand users, it appears slightly blurred, almost as if meant to be viewed through 3D glasses. When within 10 meters of the target location, which is chosen by the Stand but is often secluded or difficult to access, it inhabits, the cat suddenly shifts so as to also have three tails and grows dramatically in size, matching a ten-year old child in height and some snakes in length.
Ability: While 「Rat in a Cage」 is disguised as a cat, the first person to see it is instilled with a compulsion to follow it, and the cat will move towards a predetermined location, which is marked with a large 'X' in what appears to be blood. 「Rat in a Cage」 will trigger its ability when anyone gets within 10 meters of this marker. At this time, the cat will transform into its more monstrous form before biting off its own tails. Witnessing this act will leave the chosen victim paralyzed, as if their body was being braced. The cat will then grow back its tails over the course of thirty seconds before devouring them again. With each tail devoured this way, anybody trapped within this ability will slowly become more infuriated and deranged, inducing a psychotic rage accompanied by a strong desire to kill. When this process has been repeated twenty times, over the course of ten minutes, all victims will be freed and the cat will disappear. The victim is considered a user of 「Rat in a Cage」 and is thus able to see Stands. 「Rat in a Cage」 also has a Substand, 「Winterlong」.
「Winterlong」 is a clock displayed proudly in the city center of the Stand's target city, and all non-Stand users are unaware of its true nature. While this is considered the Substand, it is closer to the main body of the Stand than Rat in a Cage is. At midnight every three days, the clock breaks, keeping the hands perfectly still for ten minutes. During this time, the perception of time around the area is distorted; people who are asleep will experience time pass much more quickly, waking up feeling rather unrested, while those awake seem to experience time slowing to a crawl. This effect is timed to coincide with the effect of 「Rat in a Cage」 so as to torment the victim. The clock then resumes again after ten minutes, ending the perceived dilation effect, telling the time perfectly as if the clock had never stopped. The Stand will repeat this cycle anywhere between two and six times before moving on to a different town, creating a six to twenty day window in which it can be destroyed.
Stand User - The stand does not have a user and is instead a manifestation of the fear of the locals. Thus, the user of the stand would best be described as the collective unconscious of the residents of the chosen locale that they are not safe in their own city. If this fear is assuaged, the Stand will dissipate as if the user had been defeated. However, the Stand never truly disappears, only moving on to the next town which it can take advantage of. Only by truly destroying the clock in the city it currently inhabits and using the materials of that specific clock to make anything other than a timekeeping device can the Stand truly be expunged.
Power: C - The Stand is only capable of doing as much damage as the people is drives mad, no more, no less.
Speed: D - The ability of the Stand takes 10 minutes to complete, and if the process is interrupted does nothing.
Range: A - The Stand can cover the range of an entire city, no matter how big, perhaps even farther.
Persistence: D for the humans, A for the Stand - The Stand is incredibly resilient and hard to pin down; it's difficult to pinpoint the clock as the source of the problem, and the Stand moves frequently enough that there's a tight window to expunge it. The humans are regular humans, though, excluding the fact that they can see Stands, and can be stopped by just about anything that could stop a normal Human.
Precision: A - The Stand is incredibly good at picking its targets and rarely fails to make a mark; its technique is almost practiced.
Development Potential: E - The Stand has developed to its maximum capacity; there is no more room for improvement in the ability, simply because the user is both so vague in nature and somewhat incapable of change.
I discovered this sub today and felt compelled to post since the contest idea seemed super cool; I hope this one follows the rules. I know it's really weird and probably more than a little confusing, but I hope it's cool and creative enough. As for a theme, I'd like to a see contest based on Substands; creating a Substand without creating the Stand it would be attached to and seeing what kind of Stand people would attach it to.

2021.09.27 05:43 pscp Post trauma brain fog and mood
I'm dealing with the mental and emotional fall out from recent violent attacks and the total implosion of my marriage, all while maintaining a busy tech job.
This leaves me feeling distracted, with brain fog, and forgetful. Some days are better than others. It's a process and it will take time. Sleep and food don't always come easy, but I'm pushing through it.
I'm still working. Somedays are better than others. I've dabbled with nootropics, and get pretty good results from coffee+L theanine, alpha gpc, and ginko, but I could use a little extra boost to assist with pushing me through in terms of cognition and mood. I know, sleep, exercise, diet, hydration, getting fresh air are all part of keeping me balanced. Pot helps, I hope therapy will too.
Anyone out there have a recommendation a supplement that will give me an extra boost to break the brain fog and possibly elevate my low mood?
Thanks in advance.
FYI 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

2021.09.27 05:43 BlueBanthaMilk Bombardiers are SUPER slept on as a counter to shotgun rushing.
Shotgun rushing has been meta since almost as long as D2 has been around, and to date there aren't many close-range burst options to defend against it. And even if said options do exist, they're usually almost entirely defensive in nature- not offensive.
One major counter to shotgun rushing that I never see anyone talking about is Bombardiers. Most people think of Bombs as a meme exotic. True, it's pretty useless in PvE. But most people treat it as a suicidal "run at someone then roll away" exotic in PvP, trying to nab kills with the bomb through aggressive action. Where Bombardiers truly shines best is, especially combined with the Stasis subclass, being an option that lets you disengage from and instantly counter a shotgun rusher. The Bombardiers explosion itself deals ~120 damage in its max range increment, which is basically anyone trying to rush you for a shotgun or melee. Follow this up with something simple like a single crit from a hand cannon, and you have a 1-2 pop that executes with either the shot or the bomb in under a second. If you're not immediately in OHKO range, 99% of the time this combo will drop a rusher.
And if you're packing the Stasis subclass, your roll will slow the target, keeping them stuck in the point-blank explosion range. This lets you pick up critical trade kills that can be very clutch in Trials and other life-based PvP modes.
Long story short, dust off the Bomby Bois and take them for a spin this week in PvP. They also have mad fashion style points.
Bonus: You can also nab some stylish no-look executes once you get the timing and feel of the exotic down.

2021.09.27 05:43 ReRo547 Kazuha's hometown and origins
So, earlier I went to my teapot to adjust new furnitures and characters. When I placed Kazuha on my teapot, he mentions something about his hometown. I began wondering when or where did he came from..
From what I see..
-Because the village is sorrounded by maple trees -Despite being an abandoned village, it also looks kinda like an abandoned estate in my opinion.
If he came from Higi Village, does that mean he worships Orobashi? (The great serpent god.)
-Again, like Higi Village in Yashiori, the whole place was sorrounded by maple trees. -It was mentioned that their house was repossesed (Does that mean their house and properties were repossesed by the Hiragi clan?)
I think Kazuha came from Higi village. It was not only because the whole place was covered with Maple trees (Ritou was covered with maple trees there but I'm not sure about some things.) Many samurais live in Higi Village including Washizu (Now some became Kairagi and Nobushi bandits.)
The place was abandoned after the Tataragami spread through the island. Kazuha told us about his hometown yet he doesn't mention where he came from or where did he live before (Which I found a bit interesting.)
